Guidance Documentation

Often there is confusion surrounding exactly how each field in a safety inspection (or cathodic protection inspection or initial Duty to Warn information) is supposed to be filled out. Sometimes there are multiple ways to interpret what the content of the field should be. This week’s Tip serves as a reminder that our Guidance Documents serve as a step-by-step guide for your employees on how to properly fill in the forms they are most commonly using.
You can access the Guidance Documents in your P3 database by going to the P3 icon in the upper left hand corner and selecting Guidance Documents from the drop-down menu.
Here you will see Guidance Documents for the following forms:

  • Safety Inspections
  • Duty to Warn
  • Cathodic Protection Inspections
Each document will outline not only what the technician should be filling out on the page, but also the options that are available to the individual entering data within the forms. The document is in the same order as the form, so it is easy to follow along or jump right to the section where a question has come up.
If the way the technician filled out the inspection form does not match the items available for selection in your P3 database, we recommend reviewing the respective Guidance Document. After you are clear on how the form should be completed, it is a good idea to follow up with the technician to ensure all safety documentation is being recorded correctly.
